Corpse Wall
Work has finally begun on the new Corpse Walls for this season. I am stealing an idea from a Transworld Foto.
This wall will have jail cell bars holding a corpse in. I have a few ideas that you will see as the project progresses.

This how-to is a work in progress. I will be adding detail as the project progresses.

Making the frame. Built from 2x3"s and some scrap 1/4" luan. P7180002 P7180003 P7180004 P7180007
Gluing on the 2" Poly Foam Board (EPS).
I have also drawn out the design on the foam. You can tell by the number of squiggled lines that I make my share of mistakes..

Here the foam has been cut out.  For this wall I used a Dremel with a large router bit.  I didn't have to cut out mortar lines and then scrape out the left over foam this time.  The big router bit will grind out a sizeable line.  The downside is that the bit is only 1/2 inch deep.  I usually like at least 3/4" mortar lines. I started cutting out 'head rests' in the arch and adding skulls.  I am in the process of creating molds to cast latex and foam skulls.  It will be a few weeks before the rest are ready for placement. P8010620 P8010621 P8010623
Added the rest of the skulls, cut and positioned the PVC bars, and hit it with the Wagner for the first coat of paint P1010756.jpg P1010759.jpg P1010763.jpg
Added skull toppers, Dry brushed with gray paint, and airbrushed some dark green mold onto the gooky stuff. P1010780 P1010782 P1010784
